retreat

we just got back from the annual high school retreat. it was a very tiring, very beneficial two and a half days. our chemistry teacher, toby landers, spoke about what it means to dance with Jesus. my cabin was full of awesome guys, the weather was nice, and we played some good rugby.

the retreat did get me thinking about the firemans last year. it was at retreat that we decided to begin meeting for Bible study and that was the weekend when the guys really decided to follow Jesus that year. honestly, i was hoping something would work out that nicely this year, but the same thing doesn't happen twice...

a few guys have been asking about getting a Bible study together, so that's my goal for this week. i am hoping to have a group of guys together by friday so that we can start meeting next week. i'm still not sure who will be involved, and there are some major personality conflicts between some of the guys i was thinking about.

four years ago, it was prophesied that this year's senior class would impact the school for Christ. now that they are seniors, some of them are beginning to wonder how and if that will happen. as senior class advisors, melissa and i are in a unique spot to help that come true, but we also are wondering how that will come about. getting a bunch of senior guys from different barkadas together may be a beginning to that.

in other news, we played our first sunday afternoon frisbee game yesterday. zeb came along for the ride and intrigued frisbee buddy joey kuhlow.
