journey of joy

that time of year

living in a transient community like faith, there comes a time of year that i dread. we are almost here. the time has come to say good-byes to people we have come to know and love. being at home with the boys this year and not having much contact with people at school will definately make this year an easier year for these good-byes, but still i don't enjoy it!

jon and i have really enjoyed spending time with the larson fam this year. we are definately going to miss them and their outlook on life!! amy is still trying to convince us to move to minnesota near them...something tells me that i would turn into one giant ice cube if we ever did that! i am also sad to see the seniors in jon's bible study go...they just make me smile!

we are looking forward to getting to know the newbies next school year, but also have to deal with the fact that some of our long time friends won't be back this year! that has been the most difficult thing for me is realizing that many of the people that i have gotten to know over the past 7 years are on furlough or simply not returning....

will we ever live in a place where people actually stay put for more than 5 years or does that not exist anymore?
