manic may

my friend labeled her status on facebook as "manic may." i must say that that summarizes our month in reference to health! zeb has been under the weather for three weeks now. as you may recall on my birthday, he was doped up with paracetemol and amoxocillin...and then some crazy rash took over his arms and legs. today, while changing his diaper, i noticed that his trunk is developing a crazy rash (don't think they are from the same family).

this is where i get completely frustrated in the way the philippines runs their health care...there is no pediatric 24 hr. clinic. if i wanted an appt. with my dr., we would have to wait til the end of the week and if we brought him to the er, he would be admitted and probably confined for fear of some contagious, infectious disease. at least in the states, dr.'s would be able to say...it's this or this, but definately not this...here they just keep sending you to specialist and giving you antibiotics that you're not sure your kid should be taking!

please pray that we get to the bottom of this and that zeb will start to feel better...his mother is quite weary!

jon finishes teaching this week, and the following week is exams. then we get daddy home at a much needed time. i'm not quite sure what he will be doing with his time. he is taking one class this summer, but he's been doing that while teaching and maintaining a family...i do think he will be bored!!

as for jai and myself...i now realize that zeb was not a normal toddler. i have spent the past couple days chasing jai off the table, counter and chairs. at this age, zeb was content playing with trains and didn't get into a whole lot of trouble...of course jai does have a brother to show him the ropes!! as for me, i'm gaining weight, getting fatter and i'm sure grouchier (you'll have to ask jon). otherwise doing great and excited to meet the next barlow in 9 weeks!! hope you are well...drop us a note!!
