journey of joy

come and gone...

at 3 o'clock this morning, i fed baby keio and then piled my parents 200 lbs. worth of luggage (we helped with 100 lbs.) into the back of our car. we piled in and made our way silently to the airport. the silence due to the fact that we knew we would have to say goodbye. the airport in manila is awful, you literally leave your guest off in the parking lot to say goodbye, nobody other than the flyers are allowed in. if you knew the philippine culture you would understand this rule. as an american i find it incredibly difficult to dump family off and pray they make it through everything ok. my parents made it through and are on their way back to the U.S.

for all of you who have family close, take advantage of all the time you can spend together!! i realize the blessings of being near family only when i am so far away. i can not wait for our year on furlough, to build real relationships with family and friends... to have my children know their real aunties and uncles...

as life gets back to normal here, i am making it my goal to try to keep the blog updated and write more snail mail...and clean before christmas...so if you read this on a regular basis, please hound me on a regular basis!!
