the world is quiet here

things come to a grinding halt pretty quickly here. as soon as classes are over and graduation finishes, people hop on planes pretty quickly. the result is that i'm sitting here on campus, three days after grad, and it's empty. students, faculty, workers... everyone is somewhere else by now. except the remnant...

a few brave souls stay in manila for the two months school is out, and we are among them. we plan to spend a lot of time at the pool, i'm trying to teach jai to crawl, and we've got people coming to visit. so's here a quick overview of our summer:

sarah harris, with her mom and friend, will be here end of may and two weeks into june

jeff and mary campbell and their team from umass will be here for july and half of august

chase godwin is coming to visit for two weeks in july

i'm writing a curriculum for a desktop publishing course that will be offered next year

melissa and i are taking summer classes to renew our teaching certifications

we will go to the pool every day
