stuck

right now i should be landing at jfk in new york to attend nathan smith's wedding. it didn't work out like that. i got a call from my travel agent on wednesday afternoon telling me that my travel documents are in immigration for processing. usually that would not be a huge deal, but this is holy week in the philippines. wednesday afternoon before maunday thursday, everything shuts down. period. nothing happens. it stays that way until monday morning after easter. my helpful agent was suggesting i just delay my departure until monday afternoon instead, but that doesn't help me get to a saturday wedding - especially since i need to be back here by monday (and i don't think nathan wants my company on his honeymoon).

so i am stuck in manila when i should be in the states. melissa and zeb are happy about, and nathan understands, so it worked out ok...
