so yesterday most of the filipino cabinet members resigned their posts and are up in arms for the president to resign as well. joining the call for gloris to step down are former president cory aquino, the catholic bishops conference, and most of the population of the country; manila was full of protests last night. the odd thing is that, even though i've only been here 4 years, this doesn't phase me at all. political instability is pretty much a fact of life here. it's almost as if people aren't satisfied unless someone is thrown from office every decade or so. this fallen world...
